As a Massachusetts Justice of the Peace, I have performed hundreds of ceremonies on holidays, but this is the first time I have married couples on Valentine's Day. Jasmine and Ken Le were an absolutely lovely couple. It was a pleasure officiating for them.
Later in the afternoon, I performed another ceremony for a couple who were high school sweethearts and went to the prom together some twenty years ago in Massachusetts. Later on they went their separate ways. The woman got married and moved to Florida and then divorced. The man never married at all. Recently when the woman came home to Boston for a visit in December, she ran into her old flame. The sparks flew again and this time he was not going to let her go away again. They were married yesterday and she is now moving back to Massachusetts.
I love hearing stories about the couples who I marry and how they met. It makes it so much more special when I officiate their wedding ceremony.
